Samsung 850 evo crystal diskmark8/19/2023 ![]() Tx.Īlso, now my replies are showing up in the thread. If they could replace this M.2 with another model, if possible EVO that would be AWESOME.īTW, thanks for that suggestion to update the BIOS, which kind of fixed Seq write results now. I'll also wait for the AW support person response in this thread. I'll check again there's an option to buy without M.2 drive. instead two to 4yrs by Amex card), I mostly buy laptop's from costco. As I get 2yr warranty from costco, which'll be doubled FREE (i.e. Note: As I got my AW15 from costco, i didn't have a choice for not having the default M.2 drive, if exists, I would've gone for that. When you see all these PM851 256 GB SSD results, all of them suffer from really really poor QD 32 4k results, especially write, and also it's not consistent. See below screenshot of 2 tests in succession, gave different results and CDM test results vary drastically every time, write results only for 4k QD1 and QD32. Here's my AW15 4k system wide result, though UserBenchmark didn't recognize my GTX 970M card (tried 3-4 times, not sure why ?). If you see the in this link for 256GB, there are more results, 2 new AW 15, 2 AW17, 20 XPS new model results having same SSD M.2 PM851, results are not that great, in fact, really poor in most cases. Thanks for that link, though it was for 512GB M.2 PM851 Samsung drive, with just 1 result from someone with XPS laptop I think. It's just for me or for everyone PM851 is performing bad, we'll get to know from that. Probably, we can compare if more folks can share their results of their Samsung PM851 M.2 results. Random Write (IOPS) : 11000 - 9497 (worst to the core !!! Shocking !!!)ĮVO 850 M.2 results seems to be good, and EVO's are known for good performance. I'm not sure you've your results for the PM851 M.2 came with your Alienware, can be comparable. ![]() Random Read ((IOPS) : 67525 (really really low compared to 2.5' SSD's) Seq Write: 50-250 MB/s (why it's so much varying between multiple tests. ![]() Still, above all, M.2 PM851 is way way lower than regular 2.5' SSD. Not even near to previous results, sometimes nearer. See enclosed image.Īlso, it differs every time drastically (write perf) whether I test with same or different Test Runs. However, on Windows 11, the random write speeds are only around 200MB/s on the 970 EVO Plus and 980 PRO. To update you, after I updated BIOS to latest version, per your suggestion, it did have some write perf. One user confirmed its 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe drive running Windows 10, the popular CrystalDiskMark benchmark tool, reports random write speeds around 750-850MB/s. I just responded to your earlier resp, not sure why it's not showing up here in this thread. ![]()
